Given a copy by Piatkus in exchange for an honest review.

In a world where humans live on a planet called Harmony, abandoned by Aliens, with plenty of Alien technology left lying about, and human's who have developed special talents, lives Alice North. Alice has the unique talent of being able to make herself disappear...literally. On the run after the mother of her Ex-Husband sets out to destroy her life due to her belief that Alice murdered him, she bumps into Drake Sebastian one night who saves her from some muggers. Drake, a business mogul, is day blind after his sight was nearly destroyed in a lab accident. He needs her help, and they marry in order to avoid her ex's mother. They go to Rainshadow Island, where two other world crystals her relative helped find, and have now gone missing, creating a paranormal storm. Running from escaped carnivorous sea creatures, mutated giant insects and a mad scientist they start to fall for each other. But will they survive?

I instantly loved the character of Alice's attitude, not to mention her Houdini, her dust bunny pet. That's right, in this world dust bunny's are real and incredibly cute. The whole story is very fast paced, and well written making the whole story extremely atmospheric, with vivid imagery.

There's aliens in the form of alien technology that's been left behind, mutated insects, ghosts, romance, intrigue, suspense and a hefty dose of mystery. Yes it's a romance but it's not a romance that is all about the relationship and the gushing female and the brooding male. The story has a definite plot that's intriguing and makes the book hard to put down, the Romance for me was secondary to the actual story.

I now find myself wishing for a little pet dust bunny and a cool talent for disappearing!

I have the series of these titles so would buy again but found it very repetitive as I thought Jayne was running out of ideas but I will purchase any more of this series to find out what happens.

I love this series. it in a similar vein as the earlier Rainshadow series book but who cares! Quirky characters and of course those brilliant little companions the dust-bunnies!

Alice North is a light talent and has a rare ability to make things disappear including herself. She has a dust bunny called Houdini. Drake Sebatian is looking for Alice to help him find some missing crystals on Rainshadow island. Drake and Alice agree to work together.
Loved the book especially as I read the other two books in this series. These are good suspense books

I could read this book again and again. There is a bit of romance, not too much to put a person off, really recommend this.

Love JAK, love her books as Jayne Castle, and I know of recent years they have not been as strong as before, but this is a stronger book than many, liked the hero and heroine, was kept going all the way through to the end.

I enjoyed this book. Jayne Krentz books have heroines that are intelligent and resourceful, not waiting for a man to solve all her problems. The chemistry between the hero and heroine was real.
