Book Description

1 Mar 2008
"Deception" reveals how Pakistan built a nuclear arsenal with US aid money and sold the technology to countries hostile to the West, while giving shelter to the resurgent Taliban and al-Qaeda. It also reveals the much larger deception: how every American administration from Jimmy Carter to George W. Bush has actively condoned Pakistan's nuclear activity, destroying and falsifying evidence provided by US and Western intelligence agencies, lying about Pakistan's intentions and capability, and facilitating the spread of the very weapons we so fear terrorists will obtain. This deginitive books is the essential account of our time.

Review

"'This rich and detailed book reads like a thriller.' Robert Cooper, author of Breaking of Nations 'An unputdownable and explosive account of our most recent times that reveals how, while our leaders in the West claimed to be securing our future, they were ultimately responsible for one of the greatest deceptions of the age.' Simon Reeve, author of The New Jackals 'Simultaneously astonishing, maddening and absolutely frightening' - Kirkus (starred review) 'Compelling... A stunning indictment of "the nuclear crime of all our lifetimes".' - Publishers Weekly"

Deception: Pakistan, the United States and the Global Nuclear Weapons Conspiracy

Reads more like a thriller than a history book. So good I bought a second one for a friend who also thoroughly enjoyed it.

5.0 out of 5 stars An absolutely awesome thriller. And it's all true. 24 April 2012
Format:Paperback
This is ranked as one of the best books I have ever read. It reads just like a thriller and once you start, it is very hard to put down. The depth of knowledge espoused by the author's on all the matters that they discuss means that even if you had no knowledge before (like myself), by the end of the books you will become (by popular standards) a mini-expert on Nuclear Fision, Fusion, Proliferation and the chemical mehchanics behind Nuclear technology. I can not reccommend it highly enough. Not to mention seeing how Diplomats, Governments, Secret Intelligence Services and Nuclear Scientists all really operate behind the scenes. A really good lesson in 'real-politik'.

5.0 out of 5 stars How can this be? 27 May 2011

Deception: Pakistan, the United States and the Global Nuclear Weapons ConsipracyI was aghast with reading what's in here. That from Jimmy Carter all the way through George W. Bush funded the Pakistani Atom Bomb Program with US Taxpayer dollars, and did nothing to stop it. That President Regan lied to the US Congress (a Felony... as President Clinton found out regarding his Monica goings-on) each and every year from 1981 through 1986, certifying Pakistan was using US Foreign Aid money for it's people and not for Atom Bomb Development and Production, which is what they were really doing with the money. I counted 103 major players just on the Pakistan Side of their Atom Bomb Program, so it's very hard to keep everyone straight the first time you read this. It would help to have a Chart of all the Major Characters that a reader could refer to in the course of reading this amazing book. It needs yet another update, as even more goings-on have happened since even 2008. I could not put the book down once I started to read it. It's one of the very few "page turner's" I have run across in my life, and as I said in the beginning, I was aghast at what the US and Pakistan has done!
