"Deception" was one of the former Amanda Quick's novels I read, several years ago. Since, like her other plays I have ( 15 ), I 've reread this several times, and always manages to do laugh. The hero, Jared, despite to be one-eyed, is as gorgeus as any other Amanda's heroes, and Olympia, the heroine, is clever and bossy but , by all means, she falls in love with Jared.They both become involved in a treasure-hunt concerning Jared's family, and there are intrigue, betrayal and also humour. A very good book anyway to be read without pause.

Since I just had to purchase my 3rd copy of Quick's "Ravished", I'm glad that I bought a hardcover of this book. It is still in one piece after MANY readings. Great good fun. I would gladly pay a hundred dollars if Ms. Quick still wrote books like this. It wouldn't be that expensive per read. Her latest "With this Ring" is a definite improvement over later offerings, but nothing like these older ones. If you haven't read them, I envy you! You have several great discoveries to make.

What do you get when you add a 'notorious' Earl, inquisitive old maid and missing treasure?
ONe spell binding read!
I knew with a title like 'Deception' I was in for a treat, and boy was I right as the author Amanda Quick sat the tone of the of her story from the first scene with a man full of mystery, intrigue and drama and a woman who dont know when to quit while she's still ahead! It all makes for a slow juicy build up to a a tense rewarding climax which will keep you guessing to the end.
I couldnt put the book down until it was over

Without a doubt, this is her best work.
The hero is dashing and not enthrallingly handsome, while the heroine is sweet and spunky. They had a wonderful chemistry. Read more

I had major problems with this.
