Andre Rieu, the JSO and Chorus, and a host of other singers provide a mixture of carols, other religious music and some old Christmas favourites, played to a very high standard. Most of the music is very familiar but the arrangements make them sound most refreshing. The sopranos, Mirusia Louwerse, Carla Maffioletti, and Kimmy Skota each perform a solo, and also sing as a trio. There are also contributions from the Platin Tenors, the Mastreechter Staar male voice choir, and a children's choir, not forgetting the JSO chorus who always provide wonderful harmonies. There isn't a bad track on it(to be a little critical, the Staar do somewhat "drown" the sopranos in the chorus of "O Holy Night") and ,for me, the 3 outstanding ones are the tenors' "The Holy City", the sopranos' "Walking in the Air", and Mirusia's "Sleep Little Jesus". Perhaps one or two lighter numbers would make it even better, but fans of both Andre Rieu and Christmas music should not be disappointed.
