this book is a work of art. you wont learn much from the text, but the paintings are excellent ( it helps if you understand the symbols used in them ) and above all contains hand written instructions, including alternate tunings and accurate chord boxes for "Who" and solo tracks from PT himself, which are both informative and witty. I have dozens of books on the who and this is the best for guitarists. If only it could be updated so I didn't have this dog eared 2nd hand copy.

Decade of the Who, you must have this! 30 April 2000

Words to most of the Who's music, plus selected songs transcribed by Townshend himself. Great artwork, great articles. A must have for the Who fan, casual and fanatic alike.

Townshend shares hand written notes, including chord charts for many songs, including Pinball Wizard, Substitute, and Behind Blue Eyes. A fantastic treat from one of modern days most prolific song writers.

Great snapshot of those years with hand-written notes and songs that made The Who one of the greatest R&R bands of all times.

Fantastic Stuff in this book... 14 April 2013
By Tom Bakry - Published on
This book is a great work of musical enlightenment. It reveals many a musical mystery, from the hand of the great songster himself. I would absolutely love to see this updated or joined by additional volumes. Pete Townshend has done so much during his epic career, and while this book covers a wonderful selection, the story is so much longer and I can only hope that someday another volume of this kind may be published.
