I have enjoyed Debussy's work for a long time now, for yonks I suppose. His piano work alone is wonderful and generally gentle and pleasant, but occasionally uplifting too. Like many composers of what is now called Classical music, he left behind seemingly quite a large body of work which most people today are unaware of. Searching out stuff from someone you have grown to love is exciting. I really like Debussy's work because it connects emotionally with me, and leaves me feeling good and satisfied, perhaps on a spiritual and emotional level. Good music, art, writing, photography and other art forms generally benefit from skilled artisans really knowing their craft; I certainly think Debussy was on the top of his game.
These pieces are all piano pieces from different suites. I enjoy listening to them in the afternoon, especially with the sun streaming through the window, and when I am writing on my PC; it's the perfect accompaniment for this. Having enjoyed this, I am going to search out more of Debussy's work. I highly recommend this if you like piano music of the highest calibre.
