You might expect a crime novel written by the widow of Reg Kray would be tough... and it is. Recommend this to fans of Ian Rankin. --Booklist.

3.0 out of 5 stars The Debt by Roberta Kray, 6 Nov 2007
This review is from: The Debt (Hardcover)
I have just finished reading this book and it took me a week. Normally with this type of book I finish it in a couple of nights. I did like the alternating chapters of the main characters Johnny and Simone but after an hour of so each night I was finding it easy to put the book down which is quite unheard of when I read thrillers. I did guess the ending quite early on too.

Overall a good book but not the very best I have read recently. I have just bought The Pact so maybe I will enjoy this a bit more.

3.0 out of 5 stars Just ok, 12 Sep 2006

I was really looking forward to reading this book.
However after a few chapters i found myself getting a bit bored and wanting to have a break!( this is very unlike me, normally i cant put a book down)
I dont know if it was just me, but i worked out the plot half way through. I was disappointed because normally thats what keeps me hooked, playing the guessing game!
Never the less i did enjoy some parts and felt for the main character Simone. I thought the author really got into both character's well, and i liked the idea of each chapeter alternating between the two main characters- Johnny+ Simone.
I would recommend reading it everyone has different opinions, but all im saying is i've read a lot better books!
Happy reading:)
