Product Description

Product Description

Archie, a seasoned mercenary, owed much to his pal. In their earlier days of service together in the British Army, they had agreed to care for each other should the need arise and to be proxy fathers for their children should they die. How do you say no to someone who is holding your hand with desperate strength and asking for your help?

Archie has to make a choice between two equally unwelcome options. Should he take up arms and attempt to recover his comrade's dues, or should he reject the idea of operating in the role of debt collector with little or no formal support?

His professional mind screamed that he should not be daft enough to attempt it-to venture once again into the heart of darkness, the corrupt and violent world of Africa. His friendship for this man who had shared most of his life said that he should give it a try.

About the Author

Roy ?Toby? Bishop is an ex-army officer who enlisted into the Royal Military Police in 1956 and then served a full career. He gained his own independent command as a major in 1984 and was awarded the MBE in 1982 by the parachute forces for his efforts in support of their worldwide role. He left the army in 1986, taking advantage of an opportunity to work in Ghana raising and training a security force for the Volta River Authority for the protection of their hydro electric darns and installations. He has since worked on contract in other African countries where he has gained a fondness for the continent.

Relax, rest easy, read and enjoy the world of 'unusual' people who make up a very small percentage of our population. Friends come in the most surprising of forms. The tale contains raw basic military humour, not for the PC brigade but amusing to those who have had any connection with Army life and characters found within their ranks. It has been written to entertain the reader and show the lengths friends go for their comrades when in dire need of help.
