About the Author

Louisa May Alcott was both an abolitionist and a feminist. She is best known for Little Women (1868), a semiautobiographical account of her childhood years with her sisters in Concord, Massachusetts. Alcott, unlike Jo, never married: ""...because I have fallen in love with so many pretty girls and never once the least bit with any man."" She was an advocate of women's suffrage and was the first woman to register to vote in Concord, Massachusetts. --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

3.0 out of 5 stars Debby's Debut (sm book) 28 April 2009
By C. Carlson - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I was excited to get a Louisa May Alcott book I hadn't seen before. And while it is an enjoyable story, I was disappointed in the book itself. I had no idea it was so small...
5.0 out of 5 stars A delightful story of love and romance 14 Oct 2009
By Michael Haus - Published on Amazon.com
This is a delightful story of love and romance. Young Debby comes to spend the summer with her aunt, with no plans of romance in her mind. Debby's somewhat pompous aunt has other plans, as she is plotting for Debby to meet and marry a man of "social stature." The story has a cliffhanger of an ending, with two suitors, cut of entirely different cloth, vying for Debby's attention. I really enjoyed this book!
