4.0 out of 5 stars Literature Disguised as Horror 18 Dec 2001
By Gary W. Campbell - Published on Amazon.com
John Wooley and Ron Wolfe have written a fine novel in Death's Door. It just happens to be a horror novel, and this might keep some people from reading it who should. This is a tightly plotted, character-driven story that should be threatening a best-seller list. Filled with strong, sometimes quirky characters, Death's Door blends normal and incredible, heart wrenching and terrifying into a wonderful package that pulls the reader into their very possible, very frightening world. The people will become very real to you; you'll love some and hate some; you'll laugh and cry. If I was still teaching American Literature, I would include Death's Door. You are going to love this book.
1.0 out of 5 stars The real story doesn't even start for over 150 pages 1 Jun 2013
By Soundman - Published on Amazon.com
I kept reading and reading hoping the actual story would start..... it didn't until after the 150 page mark. By then I was totally uninterested in the book. Stupid me, I expected SOMETHING to happen that far into the book!!
The entire first half of the book should have been edited down to three short chapters with the real meat of the story immediately after.
I see why it was never reprinted.
