Amazon.co.uk Review

Death Trilogy collects three of Terry Pratchett's most beloved Discworld novels--all involving that especially lively character Death. Mort, the first volume, concerns the education of a brash young apprentice: "Death comes to us all. When he came to Mort he offered him a job." Unfortunately Mort lacks the detachment required for the job and starts interfering in the process, causing a rift in reality. In Reaper Man, volume two, "Death is missing presumed ...er ... Gone". This leads to an increase in the Undead population, hence the emergence of the Fresh Start Club (Undead Yes--Unpeople No). And in the final volume, Soul Music, the story revolves around Susan, Death's granddaughter, and Music with Rocks in it. As with anything in Discworld, Music is magical and the affect it has on the inhabitants is nearly catastrophic. Taken together in one collection, this natural progression of novels is vintage, hilarious Pratchett. --Mark Ridley

A Fantastic Buy! 28 Jun 2000

This was a bit of a gamble buy because I've never read any Pratchett stuff before, but this Trilogy is amazing - I couldn't put it down! If you're in need of something new and your sense of humour is off-the-wall then buy this, you won't be dissapointed.

This is a must for all Pratchett fans. Death is surely something that we all should look forward to. "Mort" was terrific and "Reaper man" was great, but "Soul music" was the best. I would have liked to see Hogfather in it as well. I couldn't stop reading until it was over and I look forward to the next book about Death, Susan, Albert and the Rat.

Death - one of the most intersesting characters on the disc comes to you three times in one book. A compilation of three of the best books written by Terry Pratchett this is a must for the die hard Pratchett fans or the first time wannabies. Also with the release of the Hogfather you can follow on once finished or wait for the next two to come out and buy the second trilogy. Only drawback that I see is that once you pick the book up you won't be able to put it down!
