I saw this book listed on the Amazon forums and, though it sounded more 'cozy' than the hardboiled/noir books I prefer, I took a chance. What a good decision that was! The main character, Fern, was someone I felt I could connect with, and her job as a garden designer seemed unique and interesting. As a gardener myself, I was absolutely in love with the descriptions the author created. If you are not familiar with plants, you might find much of the scenery overwhelming, but if you are, you will be able to see and smell the setting perfectly. I easily pictured myself in her cottage and rooted (pun intended!) for her in her work there. I had determined the culprit fairly early on, but the plot kept me guessing as to how/why the culprit did it, so I was satisfied. A wonderful read for the dreary weather we've been having. I look forward to reading the second book in this series!
