Product Description

The stunning conclusion to the DEATH NOTE saga

The film takes place before and after the two Death Note films and shows Death Note fans the more human side of the legendary detective L not seen in previous entries. The story begins as L takes on the Kira case in which countless criminals are mysteriously dying of sudden heart attacks. L leaves his headquarters in Los Angeles and travels to Japan, for he believes with a 97% certainty that the killer is in Japan, and he also predicts that he may have to risk his life to solve the case. In Japan, L teams up with another young genius named Light Yagami, who is in fact Kira himself, and discovers the existence of the Death Note, a notebook belonging to a god of death; whoever s name is written in the notebook dies. L solves the case and brings justice back to the world but loses his partner Watari and only has 23 days left to live.

In the short span of time he has left, as L continues to solve unsolved cases from around the world, he receives a gift left behind by Watari a young boy with an SD card. L discovers that this boy is the sole survivor of a mysterious epidemic that hit a small village in Thailand and suspects that this epidemic is not a natural occurrence, but something man-made and evil. Around the same time, L meets Maki, a young girl looking for Watari for help. Her father, a scientist at the Infectious Disease Center of Asia, had given her the key to solving this case before he died. With Maki and the boy, L goes up against a bio-terrorist group responsible for creating a deadly virus ten times more fatal than Ebola, and as L tries to formulate an antidote with a scientist, he must also save the lives of the two children who have no one else to turn to.

Synopsis

Please Note:- This special edition has a very slight skip after Chapter 19, which is from the master disc and cannot be rectified. It is barely noticeable, however if you feel this will cause a loss of watching pleasure, please purchase the standard version. L CHANGE THE WORLD is a spin-off from the highly successful DEATH NOTE franchise; which includes a bestselling manga, an anime series and two live-action feature films. This action-packed supernatural thriller focuses on the the mysterious character L (Ken'ichi Matsuyama), the detective tracking the 'death note' killer of the previous films. In L CHANGE THE WORLD the detective comes to the aid of a boy named Maki Nikaido (Mayuko Fukuda), the only survivor of an infectious virus responsible for wiping out his small Thai village. With only 23 days left to live, L decides to use the time to solve this case and others across the world.

A great film 5 Aug 2011
Format:DVD
A word of advice if you are going to watch this film, watch it in Japanese rather than English. The first time i watched this film I watched the version that had been dubbed by Americans, It was awful! The American voice actors exaggerated EVERY SINGLE WORD that they said, which made the whole film seem really corny.
Then I watched the film in Japanese, it was so much better!

The story behind the film is quite interesting, it is an alternate ending too the anime/manga series death note, though you don't have too have red or seen death note in order to watch this film. L,the amazing yet rather anti-social detective who only has 23 days to live after writing his name in the death note (a note book which kills whoever's name is written into it), must find the antidote to a dangerous and highly infectious disease before it spreads around the world killing everyone who becomes infected.

I love this film, it is truly heart-warming.

In this spin off L centre stage as he lives his last 23 days.
This film is a lot lighter in nature then the Death Note films, in it L must stop a small terrorist group who want
to clense the world and save mother nature. L meets a young boy and girl who he must look after as he solves the case.
We see how akward L really is as he attempts to interact with people without Watara around and we see a fair amount of humour.
If you loved L in Death Note you'll enjoy this movie.

Death Note: L Change The World is a fantastic film and a brilliant way to end off the Death Note films. The english subtitles are very clear and easy to follow. If you are looking to find out what happens in this story though I would advise you to buy the Novel rather than the film as the film skips some parts of the story were as the novel doest.
