Amazon.co.uk Review

Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno, stars of the late-70s, live-action television series The Incredible Hulk, cap a run of sporadic TV movies based on the old show with Death of the Incredible Hulk. The gloomy title says it all. Bixby's Dr David Banner, spiritually exhausted after years of rage-induced transformations into a snarling green monster, takes a last stab at finding a cure by posing as a retarded janitor in a government-funded research laboratory. His secret collaboration with a scientist (Philip Sterling) on "killing" the Hulk's genetic viability goes awry when a gorgeous foreign spy (Barbara Tarbuck) disrupts a crucial procedure and invites the wrath of brutal terrorists, the federal government and, yes, the big man (Ferrigno) himself. With death chains rattling in the background, various ironies in the story become poignant: after years of isolation, Banner finds friendship and love just in time to risk it all for a lasting peace. --Tom Keogh

5.0 out of 5 stars What a finale!, 28 May 2003
Considering this film is over 13 years old, the storyline and effects have you gripped. For those that have seen the previous films such as "The Return of The Hulk" and "The Trial of The Hulk" and were probably disappointed, all I can say is "third time lucky" really applies to this film.
David Banner{played by the late Bill Bixby}, plays a not so bright janitor for a science lab, in the hope of getting close to a scientists experiment, that will finally rid him of his alter-ego.
But all does not go as smoothly as planned, as terrorists hi-jack the projects findings and David Banner is forced to help.
This film has plenty of action and good old fashioned love, but be warned, Lou Ferrignos brilliant performance as "The Hulk" will have you reaching for those tissues.

4.0 out of 5 stars THE END OF AN ERA, 28 Oct 2007
This is a great end to a great series. Bill Bixby is fantastic as the world weary Banner. The only letdown is reporter McGee (played brilliantly by Jack Colvin) is not in it or ever finds out its Banner. Shame.
The final scene will have you reaching for a hanky.
Wonderful stuff.

5.0 out of 5 stars The end!, 28 Sep 2007
By Bj Lucas "saculnamron" (England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
All the way through this, I couldn't help but think it was comparable to episodes like 'married' Some will proably disagree. It had this quality where you know it's building into a crescendo, the doomed love affair, the kindly doctor and his wife. It has a dark and brooding sense of foreboding. special mention has to go to Philip Stirling, wonderful in his role as Dr. ronald Pratt. Barbara Tarbuck is also brilliant as Ronald's wife, Amy. The Pratt's try to help David in his search for a cure, and come to look on him as a son. Watch out!those final scenes acted out so well by bill bixby/Lou Ferrigno will have you crying into your hanky. Such a sad but wonderful finale.
