Product Description

A woman fated to die. A vision that could save her ...

Nicolas Crystan, struggling to cope with his traumatic past, shuffles through life keeping mostly to himself ... until he has a disturbing daydream of a woman's death. At first he tries to forget it, but when real life mimics the daydream, he realises it was no ordinary fantasy--it was a vision of the future. To save a life, he must act fast.

When Juliet Maystone escapes death, defying fate, she becomes 'displaced' in this world. All she wants is to return to her bustling day-to-day routine, successfully running her own business, but as hard as she tries, she can't ignore that things have changed for her. She has to face up to the fact that being 'displaced' comes with an unexpected ability.

On Lansin Island, a quaint place with a dark history of its own, Nicolas and Juliet must learn to use their newfound abilities and work together to unravel a mystery more connected to Nicolas than he could ever have imagined ...

5.0 out of 5 stars Review 6 Aug 2012
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
A great read; the characters are very real and relatable and their speech is true-to-life. I found it hard to put the book down, and I could easily re-read it more than once. There is mystery and intrigue in the book; suprises and lots of details that keep your mind guessing and wanting more. This is not the genre of book I would normally go for, but it was very compelling and I enjoyed every page. As the first in a series, it's a good starting point and I look forward to more from the author, and I would recommend this to anyone.

4.0 out of 5 stars Gripping read 5 Nov 2012
By Alex
Format:Kindle Edition
The book has a gripping story line and the main character Nicolas is the perfect example of the every-man, with insecurities and family issues that make him seem so believable and easy to relate to. Then there is workaholic Juliet Maystone with her own family issues and baggage from a near death experience. The first couple of chapters set up the characters and gave some interesting threads that were picked up later on in the book. It is more of a fantasy book than thriller but that does not in any sense detract from a really good book

The pace of the book slows down slightly in between the first meeting of Nicholas and Juliet and the occurrence that forces Juliet to seek out Nicholas again. The fantasy element comes from supernatural abilities that turned into something more sinister. The romance element is quite obvious between Nicolas and Juliet and maybe slightly predictable. Overall I found this a really enjoyable read that has areas for improvement, but read as a really good author in the making.

5.0 out of 5 stars I was immersed in this book. 14 Dec 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A Death Displaced had me absorbed, reading it to the extent of ignoring my friends and family! It didn't take me long to read the entire thing, but there were so many layers and little bits of detail that I'm thinking of re-reading it already so I'm ready for the next one. I recommend this book to anyone... the characters are well rounded and realistic, the descriptions made me feel like I was there myself and the plot was intriguing and full of mystery.

5.0 out of 5 stars A spiritual, murder mystery debut. 3 Feb 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
A Death Displaced starts with a high impact daydream, both in subject matter and in terms of the consequences for the main character, Nick and those around him. The setting is idyllic, people and events ghastly and then poetic - all well described.
Nick and Juliet are already struggling with their personal lives, in wholly different ways and things now unravel even more for them, however we sometimes have to feel worse before we can feel better. No, Mulder and Scully relationship here; as kismet seems to have already decided their fate in that regard, but when death has already been cheated, who knows?

I have a feeling that a mythology is going to build as the series progresses that will only add depth to this first book and its curious, spooky events. I utterly enjoyed this book and await with bated breath to see how Nick and Juliet grow, both in their personal, ordinary lives and their newly starting extra-ordinary lives.

3.0 out of 5 stars Overall a good read 4 Aug 2012
By Gerry
Format:Kindle Edition
It was a slow start to the book but once the different plots started to come together, it kept me intrigued enough to continue. Did feel the end was a bit rushed whereas at the beginning there was quite a lot of detail. However, inspite of this, I enjoyed the book.

3.0 out of 5 stars A woman's book?
Not a bad read, a bit predictable. I thought that there was too much emphasis on feelings and situations were overly detailed. As my title hints, one for the ladies.
