Sara and I wrote "Dear Trainer..." because we were looking for a book that would offer practical advice on the situations that we were facing every day.

We recognise that there are many excellent texts available relating to training and development, but felt that there was a gap when it came to easily accessible, immediate solutions to specific problems. We hope that "Dear Trainer..." goes some way to filling this gap.
Our style is very chatty and, we believe, easy to read - we wrote the book by sending e-mails to each other, something we still do since we are often not able to reach each other on the telephone. We are not setting ourselves up as experts, what we are doing is sharing our own experiences and solutions to problems, solutions that we have really tried - some of them worked and some of them needed a bit of tweeking here and there.
We really hope that this book is of use and will appeal to experienced and new trainers alike.
