It is the summer holiday and Holly finds a mermaid's purse on the beach near her cottage. Thinking a mermaid must have lost it, Holly writes a letter to see if she'd like it back. Princess Kora replies, and they soon become holiday friends. Holly learns all about life under the sea, as well as getting some very special holiday presents!
About the Author
Alan Durant is a prolific author of novels and picture books for children of all ages, including Dear Tooth Fairy, Dear Father Christmas, Always and Forever illustrated by Debi Gliori and Burger Boy illustrated by Mei Matsuoka. He lives in Surrey. Vanessa Cabban studied illustration at Brighton University and the Royal College of Art. She has illustrated several picture books, including the bestselling Bringing Down the Moon by Jonathan Emmett (9780744589504) and Dear Tooth Fairy by Alan Durant. She lives in Northumberland.

My daughter (now age 7) got this at Christmas a couple of years ago and loves it. There are lots of letters to open and read inside and other little mermaid surprises. She still asks to read this often and I am back looking at it as a present now for her friends since she has enjoyed it so much.

My little 4 yr old loved this book and have to say so did i the little envelopes inserted on the pages with secrets and letters in them are fab.

This book is just magical. My little girl aged 4 was totally enthralled by the story and the whole concept. I wish that I had a book like this when I was little.

Children's book
Lovely book - just perfect for our 6 year old daughter, who now has the whole set! She loves the pull-out little surprises and it really encourages her to read.

Bedtime Story Perfection
Love this book. My daughter has another one in the series which is equally as good, all the little letters and extras make this a wonderful tale before bedtime :-)
