5.0 out of 5 stars Ahhhh....Bisto 26 July 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Do not read this book whilst holding a cold drink, a hot partner or anything squeezable. The genius of this man's writing is a beautiful thing to read, dry, sharply observed and above all cheap as chips on kindle downloads. As funny as "Dear Air 2000" but without the lasagne although you will never be able to look at Bisto gravy granules in quite the same way ever again. Whatever you do download this and help keep Terry Ravenscroft in Oxfam trousers and 2 bottles of white wine.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Riot From Start To Finish 21 Aug 2011

Format:Kindle Edition
I had already read and enjoyed Terry Ravenscroft's Dear Air 2000 so I was really looking forward to this. I was not disappointed. I smiled throughout, chuckled often and laughed out loud many times. I would have read it right the way through at one sitting if I hadn't shown my husband the letter to Butcher's Pet Foods and he wouldn't give me my Kindle back for the next hour while he read some more of these absolutely hilarious letters. Magnificent. And Mr Ravenscroft has another six books on Kindle that I ave still to read. Can't wait.

5.0 out of 5 stars So funny 31 May 2012
By CJ

I read this whilst on holiday laid by the pool, my partner was totally embarrassed as I was in absolute hysterics with tears running down my face. It was the letter regarding the brewery visit and the peg leg that finished me off!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Funny but a little repetitive towards the end 29 Jan 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I did enjoy the book and marveled at the cheekiness of the author to write to the various companies in the way he did.

The theme of the letters did get a little repetitive towards the end but a good book for 89p.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not funny 25 Jan 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Sorry, but what do people find funny about this book? it is just annoying. An old idea and I regret the cost to the companies who had to waste hours replying to this rubbish.

1.0 out of 5 stars Oh Dear 29 Sep 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
A bad idea poorly executed. This book is not even amusing, I abandoned it before reaching halfway and removed it from the device.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not allowed to give zero stars!! 31 Jan 2012
By TimmyY
Format:Kindle Edition
Well that's 89p I will never get back. Maybe I should write to the customer services department at Amazon. A quirky little letter of complaint might illicit a humourous response.
That is essentially the premise of this book, the problem is the author's initial letters are mostly humourless and his follow up letters in many instances downright offensive.
The highlight of the book for me was the unfailing courtesy of the customer service staff at the target companies. A number of these responded in humorous terms only to be treated with contempt in the author's follow up letters.
To sum up: don't waste your time or your money (even 89p is too much) on this arrogant and self important hogwash.

Dear Coca-Cola starts ok, but I wish I had left it on the bookshelf. Perhaps I should expand on this but it has already taken up my valuable time.

Useful book to read whilst hanging around airport lounges as you can easily dip in and out of it. Some letters were just plain daft but others did actually make me laugh out loud. Read more
