Review

This collection of reminiscences of Christopher Lloyd by a cross section of close friends professional and student gardeners, plantsmen and admirers from home and abroad is a reminder of just how many people, of different ages and backgrounds, he inspired and touched. --Annie Gatti, Gardens Illustrated

Product Description

Great Dixter is a place of pilgrimage for gardeners all over the world. Its exuberant plantings have drawn legions of green-fingered visitors for decades. But Great Dixter's influence extends way beyond the gardening world and affects all who pass through it in a very particular way. * Well-known garden writers and celebrities such as Alan Titchmarsh, Anna Pavord, Helen Dillon, Hugh Johnson, Simon Jenkins and Mary Keen remark upon their Dixter experiences * Photographers and designers such as Howard Sooley, Jonathan Buckley, Andrew Lawson, Jerry Harpur and Allen Pollok-Morris have also contributed a range of stunning photographs. * The Garden Museum will also be running an exhibition entitled Christopher Lloyd: A Life at Great Dixter from 1 April to 12 September 2010.

This is an excellent and fascinating book, beautifully illustrated and of great interest to anyone impressed by Christopher Lloyd or Great Dixter - but beware! The book titled "The View from Great Dixter: Christopher Lloyd's Garden Legacy" which looks as if it were a different book in the same series is in fact the identical book, just with a different title and cover! Misleading is putting it mildly!

This is the UK version of "The view from Great Dixter" which is this book's American title. Both are published by Timber Press and differ only in; title, cover artwork, and ISBN number. Use the look inside tool to see for yourselves. Do NOT be tempted to multi-buy these items or you will be buying the same book twice!

Book of Good Memories 17 Jan 2011
Everyone who dies should have a book like this made after him.
It meant that our lives would have mattered, that we had a good life, full of friends.
That's the best legacy.
Christopher Lloyd left us this and many more. His books, his knolledge and of course... Great Dixter.
