Format:Paperback
I bought this book as a result of my flight being delayed for two hours at Manchester airport.
The title is specific but it could be easily changed to 'Dealing with Life'. It is a very readable guide to dealing with situations and in particular difficult people that we've all had to deal with.
It starts by pointing out that difficult people are just people we have to learn to deal with, and that perhaps we may be difficult people!!
The book categorises the different types of difficult people we have to deal with and high lights the fact that knowing how people habitually respond gives us the opportunity to practice our response to them.
This book is not some academic text book but a very light humerously written book with profound content. You can open it at any page and be captivated..and end up nodding - "Yes I've been there". The advice is light hearted and gentle but written with great wisdom.
This book could easily be placed in the philosophy or religious section in my opinion.
I ended up giving my copy of the book to my client who had a very difficult meeting to attend...the advise may help him to communicate more meaningfully with a very difficult person! Perhaps my flight was meant to be delayed.
I ordered another copy of the book straight away from Amazon!.

'Sound bite' style in places but some good in depth sections as well.
Helps to identify others behaviour and your own!
As the authour says, don't read it cover to cover but keep dipping into it.

Difficult to put down 28 Nov 2010

I bought this as part of my management training programme and it has become my Bible - but maybe that says something about my workplace!

An invaluable tool that makes you think not only about your colleagues but also about yourself.

If you have any aspirations for entering management, or are already there, I highly recommend this book.
