Product Description

In this first book in the Sandy Reid Mystery Series, an almost-too-clever young law student in Philadelphia gets a life-or-death call from her estranged brother who just moved to Florida--she tells him to go to hell. She doesn't need this. She's holding an old grudge and resents having her life in Philadelphia interrupted. The brother doesn't come looking for trouble, he simply wants to get past his Philadelphia divorce and start a new life in Florida, but woman-trouble comes looking for him.

Unfortunately, he arrives in the small Florida ocean side town just as someone murders the local gubernatorial candidate. The brother doesn't have a clue about women and gets seduced and framed. He hasn't bothered with his estranged sister up north for years but now, as a stranger in a hostile town, she's his only hope. She reluctantly decides to at least check out her brother's predicament. This small step leads the audacious sister into an ever-increasing entanglement of deceit, double-cross, and danger, as she can't leave well-enough alone and goes after the real killer in this fast-paced mystery.

The first book in the Sandy Reid mystery series. THE PRICE OF CANDY is the second book in this fast-paced series with the sassy protagonist and amateur sleuth. The third book in the series is SUCH WICKED FRIENDS.

enjoyable start 16 May 2011

This being the first in a series it introduces a female para-legal/ law student who decides to help her long estranged brother when he is facing a murder charge. There were some rather confusing characters at the start, & some rather unbelievable situations, but the story then progressed well & no doubt there will be further developments in later books. A good start to a series

I wasn't sure about the write-up for this and am always cautious of these reviews (suspecting many are written by the authors), but I have to admit to being very pleasantly surprised by how well written and interesting this was - I will probably buy any others in this series.

Not a Bad Read 22 May 2011

This was my first Kindle book.
An easy read although a bit cliched and the plot took a fair leap in a couple of places. Even so a good story with a nice twist at the end which I enjoyed.

Not Sure about this
I personally couldn't get into the book. A little slow paced in my opinion. Unfortunately after 4 chapters I was bored so gave up.

great
I really enjoyed reading this book, the only fault I can think of is that it could have gone on longer, so I would have been enthralled for longer

A page turner, enjoyable read
Okay, so, it starts off with Sandy saying her brother can go to hell because he didn't save her from rehab. She could've left three months if he went there. But he didn't. Read more

Close, but no cigar.
The main character Sandy Reid is a well written and nicely developed character. She is feisty and comfortable in her own skin and I couldn't help but like her. Read more
