Synopsis
Kate Kinsella's friend and landlord, funeral director Hubert Humberstone, persuades Kate to help him out by preparing a body for the chapel of rest. For an ex-nurse this isn't much of a problem - until, that is, Kate finds bruises on the body which indicate the elderly woman, Ivy Waites, may have been raped. When another elderly woman, Alvera Trees, confides in Hubert that she was raped in her own home whilst her husband (now deceased) was in hospital, it heralds a spiral of events that hurls the normally quiet town of Longborough into mayhem and madness. Mildly interesting

Acttually, I read this by mistake. The local library presented me with this instead of the Heather Graham novel of the same name.Be that as it may, I read it anyway. The author presents us with a mixture of rapes and murders which appear to be connected although the age of the victims vary from young women to quite elderly women. The plot is worked out a bit differently than one would expect.Unfortunately, there just is not a lot of depth to the characters. The PI, Kate Kinsella, poses no threat, at least not in this book, to other lady detectivees. The love interest is strictly non-involving. However, I plan on checking out earlier volumes in the series.
