I've wanted to buy Deadly little secret for ages and when I did and it finally arrived through the letter box I couldn't wait to start it.
It sounded great and I was really drawn to the front cover...
However, I overestimated it and I found myself being kind of disappointed.
As someone else in one of these Amazon reviews has already said, there is a moment of Twilight at the beginning which did not impress me and I also felt like there were moments of Hush, Hush and ever so slightly: The vampire diaries.
I read this after finishing 'Mockingjay' the last of the Hunger Games trilogy, which I adore, and because of that I found when I was reading Deadly little Secret I thought the characters were quite shallow and the story, meaningless. Plus, Laurie Stolarz kept insisting on writing what characters were wearing everyday and going into detail of what they looked like rather than getting on with the story which bugged me a bit.
However, things did pick up and I found myself trying to piece together who was the creepy, creepy psycho stalker. Towards the end my heart was thumping and stomach clenching at the whole suspense and horror of the situation. I also liked how the parents didn't fade to the background like many other novels, which makes it seem more realistic.
I thought the book was going to leave you with a cliffhanger when I saw I was nearing the last few pages, however it didn't and the ending seemed very rushed and unfinished...
It was an ok book, but I don't think I'll be getting anymore 'Touch Novels'. Credit to Laurie Stolarz though, who made me make sure my windows and doors were definitely locked with blinds and curtains shut whilst reading this.
An entertaining book that you will probably read quickly, because even though it has it's down sides, it's quite hard to actually put down.
**Oh, and I'd just like to say that the pages were so soft!! Just thought you'd like to know.
