5.0 out of 5 stars Read--in-one-sitting, cozy fun, 30 April 2009

I picked this book up last night, then finished it in the early hours of the morning. I really enjoyed it as a lighthearted, fun book. It definitely has the feelgood factor. I think she's a great writer - some of the descriptions made me put the book down for a second and just say "aaaah." I look forward to reading her other work.

5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect holiday read, 7 Sep 2008

Dead Woman's Shoes is the ideal holiday companion:light reading in both senses of the word. Light enough to pack away in your luggage for that flight abroad or to tuck in a corner of the car boot for a holiday in wet and windy UK. There are just enough quirky characters to keep the little grey cells working with a mental Who's Who and a humorous approach which prevents it becoming the intellectual maze of a Morse. Lexy is a completely new slant on detectives in general and the little dog provides a delightful thread which runs through the whole plot. It kept me guessing to the last few pages. I feel this could be the beginning of a series which might even become a cult among readers. I look forward to the next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really enjoyed this, 8 Jun 2008

I really liked this book. It has a lot of the humour and atmosphere of vintage PG Wodehouse, with an amusingly eccentric cast of characters, but updated and contemporary. It's a fresh approach to a private investigator story, with an unusual and appealing female character in the main role, but still with all the twists and pace that make the best of such books work. Hope to see more from this writer.
