Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

Kathy Lette's Dead Sexy is a dyspeptic account of the reality show from hell; music teacher Shelly is entered by her pupils for the computer date of a life-time--marriage, honeymoon and a large cash bonus if she and her husband make a go of it. The trouble is that every single thing the highly attractive Kit Kincade tells her is a complete lie--his mane of blond hair is a wig. Shipped off with him to a tropical island in the middle of civil war and natural disaster, and surrounded by television folk of an untrustworthiness which makes even Kit look savoury, Shelly is hopelessly confused, not least by her own feelings.

Tightly plotted and stuffed with witty one-liners, Dead Sexy is what we expect from Kathy Lette--a lightweight romp that is no stranger to deeper feelings. The complex lies the characters tell are not always entirely opposed to the inner truth of their emotions--there is a real distinction made here, at times a snobbish one, between those characters who lie out of habit and those who fib out of necessity. --Roz Kaveney --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Total pants 16 Aug 2004
Format:Paperback
Oh my god! this was the most unjointed-rubbish-story-author on drugs-or-brain damaged book i have ever had the misfortune to read! I'm sure it was written by aa man who cannot "write" women, its total crap! nothing fits together, elements are introduced wily nilly and the female lead is ridiculous! one minute you think she is a lesbian as she hates men then secondly she decides to marry a total stranger as he "performs sexual favours on her". This one goes directly to jumble sale - i wouldn't donate it to my local hospital in case it causes life-support-system-ripping-out urges!! PANTS

Utter drivel 25 Aug 2004
Format:Paperback
I very rarely don't finish a book. Well, this was no contest. It was complete rubbish almost right from the start. The character names, plot, descriptions and dialogue were just unbelievably bad. I'm sorry Kathy but I don't know how this got into print. Please don't anyone waste their money on it. It's not even a light "on the beach" type of read, in fact it's no read at all.

Utter Rubbish!! 27 Nov 2005
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
It is not very often that I find a book so bad that I cannot finish it, however, after persevering for approx. 130 pages, this book irritated me so much I threw it straight in the bin. The storyline is all over the place, the characters are awful and I am not a prude by any means but found the language crass and over the top.
