Product Description

The Times

‘One of the comedy hits of the past five years.’

Book Description

Wickedly funny topical comedy from the BBC Radio 4 series.

Impressionist Alistair McGowan leads a talented cast taking satirical digs at subjects that range from newsworthy to naughty.

There's Alan Bennett having tea with Thora Hird (and talking about a lot more than Earl Grey and fondant fancies), Doctor Who confusing the local tradesmen and even good old Radio 4 isn't exempt from a gentle mocking, with Robert Robinson asking the oddest questions on Brain of Britain.

Sharp, clever and exceptionally funny, this is satire at its finest.

This is an excellent collection of spoofs and pranks of people prentending to be famous people such as Alan Bennet,Tony Blair,John Pertwee and Graham Norton to name but a few. It is very funny especially the Alan Bennett sketches. where the actor pretending to be Alan Bennett has got the voice and manerism to be frighteningly realistic. One of my favourite pranks is when a member of the show preteds to be Tony Blair and rings up a plumber and says,"I've sprung a leak." This gag is very funny and ironic since it was at the time when someone had been imparting imformation from varios memos in the labour party. Very funny and Well worth a listen to
