Charles band strikes again! Having tucked a good few classics under his belt he's kicked back, relaxed and is now churning out mildly entertaining 'comic' style horror fare like this.
As you would expect from Full moon this is an excercise in style over substance. So long as you shave yer IQ into the double digits and suitably lower yer expectations you will enjoy this little romp. Cartoonish colour and camera work, unexceptional acting, cigarette packet script (guy inherits casino haunted by gangsters) and cut and pasted characters all conspire to try and put you off, with mixed results.
It has a few saving graces though, two of which appear in the shape of Sid Haig and Michael Berryman. Both looking a bit lost (Haig looking like he's just there to pick up some quick booze money) but both welcome additions to the movie. I also liked the fake sex scenes when one guy doesn't want to lose face in front of the others himself and his girlfriend make a lot of noises while sitting in bed reading, a nice aside.
Like I said before, get some friends over and get a drink in and you shouldn't be too disappointed.
