Set in beautiful Vancouver, four friends set out on an everyday errand and end up in a fight for their lives when they discover the body of a dead hooker left in their trunk. Lead by a sexy, impulsive Badass, her distant Geek twin sister, their bible thumping, Jesus loving Goody Two Shoes friend, and a chaotic, rock star Junkie pal, the group has to put aside their differences to dispose of the body before they're next. Thrown into their own personal purgatory, they face off against persistent police, a sleazy motel manager, chainsaw wielding triads, and a brutal serial killer. All the while they are followed by a mysterious Cowboy Pimp who wants to claim the corpse for his own. Will they uncover the truth behind the body and be able to stand up to their demons? I got this after reading rave reviews and was very disappointed. The film turned out to be boring with unlikeable characters that you could not care for. It seemed much much longer than it was - never a good sign. The part where a character has her arm ripped off and then sewn on using a car first aid kit appeared to be played straight! I was amused at the scene filmed I think in the woods by English beach - it was hard to tell by just using the opposite Vancouver shoreline as a guide - as it was clearly done in winter as otherwise there would always be people around!

An Exploitation Masterpiece -- Action, Mayhem, & Black Comedy!

First caught this at the 2010 Drunken Zombie Film Festival, and was blown away by how much friggin' fun this movie is.
Dead Hooker In A Trunk is a modern spin on the exploitation film and will be instantly recognizable to people who want their movies hard, fast, and mean -- with a fistful of black comedy thrown in for good measure. Jen and Sylvia Soska clearly enjoyed the heck out of themselves while putting together this crazy, no-punches-pulled piece of independent cinema, and it shows.
Not a lot of plot involved -- it's a bada**, geek, addict, and goody two-shoes trying to dispose of a dead hooker found in the bada**'s trunk... the origin of said hooker, unknown. On the way, eyes will be knocked out, arms will be yanked off, and even being dragged by a horse won't stop this dysfunctional gang from getting rid of the hooker... and exacting bloody revenge on those who screw with them in the process!
Amoral, vicious, and firmly tongue-in-cheek, Dead Hooker In Trunk isn't for fans of slickly-crafted, PG-13 Hollywood fare... this is a dirty little film that'll make you sit up and say, "OH S#@T!" throughout. It's a delightful throwback to the days when you could make a straightforwardly, unapologetically sleazy movie brimming with personality that exists solely to entertain its audience and raise a lot of eyebrows along the way.
Jen and Sylvia did good -- HIGHLY recommended!

I saw the title and thought that this has got to be a well constructed satire on so-called "exploitation" films (a deceptive name to make cheap seem respectable) or it's really a cheaply conceived and produced movie.
The old storyline of a dead body suddenly showing up and some innocent people make a series of dumb decisions (so a movie can be made and an audience can say "Dumb decision!". Briefly, two sisters, a girlfriend and some religious guy drive around with a dead body in the trunk trying to dispose of the body while avoiding the usual drug gangsta and true killer. His scenes add up to about 5 minutes and thankfully because his acting consists of wearing a hoodie.
If you like dumb dialogue, poor acting and lots of scenes of an old car and a couple of rooms then this low budget movie is for you.

Kick Ass Film Debut

Jen and Sylvia Soska kick ass with their feature film debut. Working with a tiny budget but an excess of ingenuity and wicked inspiration, they deliver a fun and twisted ride. It's great to see women who can work in the horror genre without flinching. Raw, uneven, but never dull. Look for their new film American Mary coming out in 2012.
