Set in beautiful Vancouver, four friends set out on an everyday errand and end up in a fight for their lives when they discover the body of a dead hooker left in their trunk. Lead by a sexy, impulsive Badass, her distant Geek twin sister, their bible thumping, Jesus loving Goody Two Shoes friend, and a chaotic, rock star Junkie pal, the group has to put aside their differences to dispose of the body before they're next. Ignore the previous comment unless you have OTT expectations that aren't reachable for a group of upstarts in film-making and are really concerned on where the film was made (WTF?). If it's Tarantino/Rodriquez with a splash of Eli Roth then you may enjoy this more.
This is low budget done well and if you liked El Mariachi, you will enjoy this. From the dug dealing bloodbath which leads to the leads on the run to the "Oh no they didn't" mix up of killings, DHIAT delivers high octane thrills and humour from start to finish and it's one of thos films that will leave you with a smile of dark satisfaction.
The Soska Sister WILL BE the future Director's heralding a new wave of blood and gore and with their second feature 'American Mary' making waves on the festival circuit, stay tuned for more great films.

I got this after reading rave reviews and was very disappointed. The film turned out to be boring with unlikeable characters that you could not care for. It seemed much much longer than it was - never a good sign. The part where a character has her arm ripped off and then sewn on using a car first aid kit appeared to be played straight! I was amused at the scene filmed I think in the woods by English beach - it was hard to tell by just using the opposite Vancouver shoreline as a guide - as it was clearly done in winter as otherwise there would always be people around!

An Exploitation Masterpiece -- Action, Mayhem, & Black Comedy!

First caught this at the 2010 Drunken Zombie Film Festival, and was blown away by how much friggin' fun this movie is.
Dead Hooker In A Trunk is a modern spin on the exploitation film and will be instantly recognizable to people who want their movies hard, fast, and mean -- with a fistful of black comedy thrown in for good measure. Jen and Sylvia Soska clearly enjoyed the heck out of themselves while putting together this crazy, no-punches-pulled piece of independent cinema, and it shows.
Not a lot of plot involved -- it's a bada**, geek, addict, and goody two-shoes trying to dispose of a dead hooker found in the bada**'s trunk... the origin of said hooker, unknown. On the way, eyes will be knocked out, arms will be yanked off, and even being dragged by a horse won't stop this dysfunctional gang from getting rid of the hooker... and exacting bloody revenge on those who screw with them in the process!
Amoral, vicious, and firmly tongue-in-cheek, Dead Hooker In Trunk isn't for fans of slickly-crafted, PG-13 Hollywood fare... this is a dirty little film that'll make you sit up and say, "OH S#@T!" throughout. It's a delightful throwback to the days when you could make a straightforwardly, unapologetically sleazy movie brimming with personality that exists solely to entertain its audience and raise a lot of eyebrows along the way.

One of the biggest let down in years!

I was really looking forward to this. I had heard good things. Bur after finally viewing it, I honestly feel like I was robbed of 90 minutes of my life. 90 minutes that I can get back.
Awful, cheap effects, bad acting, a horrible soundtrack, unfunny, obvious jokes, unlikable characters and a sloppy mess of a plot. There is literally nothing positive that I can say about this movie. The Soska Sisters have gotten this reputation as the next big thing, but I'm starting to think that it's simply because the idea of horror-loving attractive twins might appeal to genre fanboys. This movie surely doesn't justify any praise they've received.
Dead Hooker in a Trunk is a great name and makes you think you're in for some fun neo-grindhouse fare, but it's just awful in every regard. It was extremely difficult to even get through all 90 minutes. I admire Jen and Sylvia Soska for their attempt and hard work, but the reality is that there are Troma films that look like genuine masterpieces compared to this mess.

"Can You Believe They Made American Mary?"

I know I'm late to the party as far as "Dead Hooker In A Trunk" goes, I barely watched it recently and can't lie, I couldn't even finish it, I disliked it, allot. When it comes to independent amateur film making "Dead Hooker In A Trunk" is just that and when I say amateur I mean amateur. I love the Soska Sisters and eagerly await the future of their film making careers but with this one I have to pass.
The film itself is filled with violence and all the good things that come along with it, we also receive allot of bad acting and dialogue not to mention it looks like the film was shot with a personal handheld camera. I love me some violence but find it hard to watch something that is plagued with said problems, it ruins the whole movie for me. Now even though I disliked this film it does not mean you will, hell look at all the positive reviews here on amazon about it, 4 star rating even which blows my mind!
