Claire has her share of challenges. Like being a genius in a school that favours beauty over brains; homicidal girls in her dorm, and finding out that her college town is overrun with the living dead. On the up side, she has a new boyfriend with a vampire-hunting dad. But when a local fraternity throws the Dead Girls' Dance, hell is really going to break loose.

I love this series 4 Sep 2008
Format:Mass Market Paperback
As soon as I picked the first morganvie vampire book up I was sucked in. The characters are really well written and realistic, you care a lot about what happens to them almost as soon as you read the first chapter.

The second book in the series picks up exactly where the first left off. Shane's crazy vampire hunting dad has shown up and is threatening to land shane in a world of trouble. Michael has to make a life changing decision that will pull the friends into a divide that may never heal. Eve's past comes back to haunt her and she fights to protect her friends from someone who would use the people she cares about to get to her. New characters come into play and old one's show their true colours in this second installment is the series. It never lets up on the excitement and I ended up reading well past midnight just so I could find out what happens.

The series never lets up on exciting plots and every book leaves you wanting more. I've ordered copies of every one after this, and I'm usually very picky. It's an instant favourite.

The blurb doesn't do the book justice either, it's just a great series and I'm glad I decided to buy them.

A book with flare 30 Sep 2008
Format:Paperback
I got back into reading when i read "The twilight" series and the Morganville series was one that i chose to read after i had finished this series. I prefered this sequal to the original book as i think the characters are better devloped and the plot is more fast paced however i would say to people that they should read The Glass House first to fully understand this book. Not overly complicated but a good read and a good series so far - cant wait to read the third one and for the release of the 4th and 5th.
By the way the books glow in the dark - got a fright when i first realised because i couldnt figure out what it was.

Id love for people to share their views on this book by leaving a comment on my review.

What an amazing sequel to Glass Houses! I didn't know if Caine was going to be able to keep up the anti from the ending of the last book but she is and grippingly so.

We start this book exactly where we left off from at the end of the last book; with Shane's father having stormed the house and intent on killing vampires and Micheal and we find out if he does...
Claire eventually manages to get them out of the house but not before damage is already done and they are all facing being in danger all over again. Is is also not the last we see or hear of Shane's dad and his vampire revenge biker gang... Meanwhile, Claire is still the target of Monica and she suffers at the hands of her despite not living in the dorm and having protection...

Everthing is constantly building to the bigger picture in this book, pieces are being pieced together until they reach a shocking and terrifying climax which seems to just get worse... The ending leaves off with a sense that if you thought things were bad, that they are definetly going to get even worse in book 3. Which should make for another gripping book and continuation of the series.

In this book, I really likes the progression of Claire and Shane's relationship. In amoungst all the carnage, choas and vampires, it was nice to have that little stretch back to humanity. To be reminded that while Morganville is a scary and dangerous place, that both friends and love can help. By the same token; that of Eve and Micheal who overcome obstacles and like Shane and Claire, they admit their feelings for each other. Its provides that crucial link back to reality.

Anothere nice wee extra is Eve's diary which Caine has continued on from the last book. It lets you further in to the world of Morganville and that of Eve and provides you with a few tit bits which are not shared in the main story! Which is always good :)

The ending lets us breathe for a bit, instead of a cliffhanger of such, we are left to ponder and wonder what the consequences of Claire's actions will be on the next book which is called Midnight Alley and I can't wait to read it!
