Product Description

Charlie Campbell was your average, balding, thirty-year-old alcoholic with a dead-end job and a penchant for shambling through life one mistake after another. However, none of that mattered following the sudden arrival of a mysterious sickness that brought with it infected mobs of zombie-like creatures thirsting for the flesh of the living.

Trapped in a Chicago apartment the morning after a raucous bachelor party, Charlie and his old fraternity buddies must battle for survival against the cannibalistic horde, a military invasion and their own rampant stupidity.

With supplies, common sense and brain cells dwindling by the hour, the motley crew — including a racist cop, a Sri Lankan used car salesman, a stoner landlord and a pet raccoon — must pull out all the stops to avoid joining the ranks of the dead.

If you like zombies, action and humor, crack a beer, pull up a barstool, and prepare for one wild ride.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome! 18 Oct 2013
By Sammi H
...and has left me eagerly awaiting the next instalment! I laughed (a lot), cringed, winced and almost cried (ok, I did). The characters are very well written and very believable, some you have to love, some are barely likeable (if not utterly horrid), and others are full of surprises...good and bad...all in all a fantastic mixture of intriguing personalities! Now...the storyline...well, I have read a lot of zombie books...and there are a lot of them out there...but Richard Johnson has set himself apart from other writers by bringing a refreshingly extra 'something' to the table...quite the royal flush indeed. So it!!!

Dead Drunk: Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse. One Beer at a Time

This is a fantastic take on the zombie genre with lots of action but mainly I enjoyed this book for the comedy value. Its follows the antics of several friends who where cellebrating a Bachelor party, when they wake up in the morning china have caused Armageddon in the US and hordes of hungry zombies are on the loose. It's a story of survival humour and relationships and is probably a good insight into what many would do in a zombie apocalypse.(get drunk and hide)

Great characters lots of action, lots of fun, well worth reading.

4.0 out of 5 stars Zombies & beer, what's not to like? 8 Aug 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Well this is not your usual zompoc novel, no hard as nails ex armed forces or law enforcement types here, just a bunch of guys getting drunk & stoned while the world turns to hell around them.

We follow Charlie & his friends on what starts off as a wild stag do & ends up as a fight for survival, as food starts to run out, members of their group fall one by one & worse of all they start running out of booze & drugs, oh & did I mention there's a racoon called Elvis thrown in for good measure.

I enjoyed reading this & there are plenty of laugh out loud moments along with the gory stuff, & given the ending possibly a follow on?
