Had never used a heatgun before but found this really easy to get the hang of. Is fairly light and somehow nicely "balanced" which means you can work away for quite long stretches of time and reach up above shoulder height to tricky corners etc. Soon you will have stripped every windowframe in your house!

This product at first glance appears to be very good value. It includes a variety of attachments and a scraper. For a couple of days the product worked well. I particularly liked the variable heat setting but towards the end of day two (3-4 hours each day) the heatgun produced nothing more than warm air. Leaving it to cool down I tried again the next day and got the same result. I've now returned the product thanks to Amazon's excellent customer service and have replaced the product with a Bosch heatgun Bosch PHG 600-3 Hot Air Gun which although it's slightly more expensive and doesn't include the attachments seems to be superior in build quality and perhaps more significantly works after two half days of work. Final comment is that for those not understanding my headline should note that Dewalt is part of the Stanley Black & Decker group of companies []. If you compare the tech specs of both the B&D and Dewalt products they appear to be exactly the same so I"m not so sure what makes this a 'professional' product other than the colour of the gun. In summary, buyer beware, better go for the Bosch Bosch PHG 600-3 Hot Air Gun. It does what it's supposed to do.

This is a fantastic heat gun - gets to temperature very quickly and had plenty of attachments. However, like others on this page, mine died within 6 weeks of light use. Not good enough from a top brand. Would not recommend.

It was great while it lasted. Problem was, it only lasted for a few uses. I used it for 1-2 hours at time and when I turned it off it wouldn't switch back on. I replaced it under warranty (because it was only 6 months old) and the replacement did the same after a couple of uses. I could replace this one again, but I would rather pay for a different model than use this 'disposable' model.

As with a few others here, it worked well and was good whilst it lasted...which was around 18 months of fairly light use. The variable heat was a good feature and prevented burning and the attachments for directing the heat were also good. Nice tool but the longevity compared poorly to my last one which worked for about 10 years, was a Black and Decker and was cheap. Not really worthy of the DeWalt name.

First and last De Walt product I'll own. Went for this based upon reputation; will stick to Ryobi in future. Great while it worked but 14 months before giving up the ghost on light usage is just not good enough. AVOID.

Had a large job to do and my cheap Einhall gave up half way through. Thought I would upgrade with a DeWalt but no - it is useless. Much poorer performance than the Einhall and would take an age to melt an ice cube. This is the worst buy I have ever made

Excellent handy item for anybody who is DIY person. Helped me in many ways - plumbing, paint stripping etc. Offers heat regulation, quickly cools down once you finished the job.
    Highly recommended.
