Before Buying this i suggest you go to the delonghi website and check out the specifications there. Some things you should know are:

>>> There is no temperature thermostat control, which is the top knob on the amazon product picture, which in itself is wrong.
>>> Neither the product box or the manufacturer website say anything about this product being quiet. I dont know why it says quiet on the item title, it shouldnt.

Since i bought this on the previous reviewers appraisal i thought it would be quieter than the 2.4 KW static delonghi fan heaters that two of my flatmates have bought, this is louder than their model. However it does oscillate and is not unbearably loud so it gets two stars, Delivery was next day, but for six pounds id hope so.

Quieter than my old fan, but...

1/ The swivel function is completely separate from the heat controls: turn it off (or thermostat switches out) and it just keeps right on swivelling away until you press the button to switch that off as well
2/ The thermostat sensitivity range is too wide. It would be annoying if it kept cycling off and on with minor temp fluctuations. However, if you reset the thermostat to just click off when the room is at a comfortable temp, you're shivering with hypothermia by the time it decides to switch itself back on. Not good.
3/ Daftest of all, I've just noticed that the thermostat controls the cooling (fan only) function as well - but only if you turn the thermostat UP! How daft is that?

Oh, and the controls feel pretty flimsy too.

This is not the pinnacle of Italian design (that plaudit goes to the Ferrari F430)

Happy to recommend this to anyone. It is considerably quieter than other fan heaters I have owned and does the job well. It is well made and solid with plenty of power. Small crticism would be the thermostat differential seems pretty wide. This results in longer running and stop times, which others may wrongly interpret as being expensive to run.
Otherwise I can't fault this item.

I am amazed, I've searched for years for a heater I can live with when programming. Infra-red are silent but glaring. Fan heaters drive me mad, but not this one. It has a large bladed fan rotating relatively slowly so it's no noisier than my hard drive.

Brilliant !

Brian.

This heater was bought with fingers crossed that it would live up to its description and be quiet and unobtrusive. Glad to say that I am fully satisfied with it's performance all round and would happily recommend you give it fair consideration should you be thinking of buying a heater with this attribute.

Does what is says - it's a quiet fan heater. I can only hear the fan blades whirring, not the bearing, fan housing or even the rotating assembly. So it's not totally silent, but a lot quieter than a normal, rattling fan heater. The rotation is turned on/off by a foot switch (the fan base). On the hottest setting, it's hot but not scorching. Also has a frost function (kicks in around 5 deg C). If the unit is knocked over, the base switch turns off the heater automatically, which I beleive is a useful safety feature.

Bought this for heating our motorhome when on hook up. Wanted a quiet fan heater as some can be very noisy. This one is perfect. Efficient on the low heat setting and remarkably quiet. After 15 minutes or so we were able to turn it off and never needed it for the rest of the day. Like the switch off mechanism if the heater is knocked over.
Our first De'Longhi product but it won't be our last if they are all as good as this.
