Convector heaters like the HS20/2 from De'Longhi are designed to provide rapid warmth and are suitable for rooms where spot heat is needed. The De'Longhi HS20/2 Convector Heater has a 2 kW maximum heat output with an adjustable thermostat. It has one heat setting and features an overheat protection system with thermal cut-out and frost protection. Silent in operation, this convector heater has wide-span curved feet for improved stability, carrying handles for easy movement and can be wall mounted. We bought this convector heater as our boiler is currently under repair. We were quite anxious at first - as our apartment is large and open plan. Upon receiving the heater, we automatically thought this wouldnt do the trick as it was small and light weight. We connected the legs and plugged it in, and off it went. To our suprise it works wonders and takes the cold chill out of the room in approx 5mins. Excellent value, no complicated knobs and bobs..

This convector heater is amazing value for money. I was going to get a Halogen heater, but then I saw one of these in a friend's house, and bought one.
It is very quiet, so you can leave it on at night without being disturbed.
the best thing is that I found it very efficient, it takes about 5-10 minutes to make your room quite warm. It depends on the room size, mine is a big double bedroom, and the heater does not fail to produce enough heat to conquer the freezing nights.
it also switches off automatically when it reaches the required temperature, then when it gets colder again, it starts.
after trying this heater, i felt good that I did not get the halogen heater, because this gives warm air distributed all over the room, and you will not get the annoying light with a halogen heater.
I am very glad with this performance and the price of this heater. It is certainly woth buying, and you will say goodbye to freezing winter mornings and nights.

At night our central heating switches off mid evening and although the downstairs rooms stay warm until we go to bed I find that the bedrooms often feel chilly, especially during the recent cold spells we have had over winter. I didn't want to keep the heating on for longer just to warm up the main bedroom so I thought I would try this convector heater to give it a quick heat up before I go to bed.
I'm really pleased to report that this heater works brilliantly. I switch it on literally just 15 minutes before I want to go to bed. I can feel the heat come out of the top grill area almost immediately and within a few minutes it is pouring out heat. 15 minutes later my bedroom has been warm and toasty and I just switch it off as I don't want the room hot all night.
I have also used this to heat the lounge when we had a problem with our boiler a month ago and had to switch the central heating system off while the plumber fixed things. It had no problems keeping a 20 foot by 12 foot room very warm.
When it arrives you can take it straight out of the box, plug it in and begin to use it; there is nothing to assemble. There is a dial on the side where you can regulate the temperature. The heat comes out of the grill at top / front area.
It is well made; the main body is made from metal and is lightweight - probably aluminium. I haven't knocked anything against mine but it does feel like it would dent if given a hefty bash.
There are two carry handles, one on either side. These remain cool even when the heater is in use which means it is easy to pick up and move.... Read more ›

Just got this to warm my bedroom (which happens to be in a poorly insulated extension) and it does the job perfectly. The automatic thermostat helps keep my room at a comfortable temperature; no more being freezing because my housemates don't want the heating on.

I needed a heater just to heat the one room I'm using. As it didn't seem energy efficient to heat the whole house using central heating.
The heater is very light and easy to pick up and move to another room. It has 6 settings of heat, but no timer to set it to come on or off. However, for this price i didn't expect one.
The feet need to be attached which i found to be fairly easy, but i can see some people having problems with aligning the screw and tightening it. It also comes with wall attachment screws if you wish to keep it in one place.
The 2KW heater warms up a room very fast - much faster then my spare Delonghi 2KW oil filled radiator. However, this heater uses 2000w while the oil filled radiator only uses 1500w which makes the convector heater slightly more expensive to run.
Overall I'm happy with the heater, particularly how fast it heats my 5m by 5m room and the fact it is very light and portable. Dragging the oil filled radiator even with wheels takes longer.

This heater is very light and of a decent size, but most importantly it does exactly what I read in other reviews.. it heats up a big room in freezing weather in around 5 minutes, and this for me is very fast! the thermostat works brilliantly allowing the temperature of the room to be maintained and turning itself off automatically when the desired heat level has been reached. I give it four stars only because it does suck up a bit more electricity than I expected, but still it is a very decent heater without the annoying light of other electric heaters and a thermostat that works..!

Very light!! easy to carry upstairs and downstairs as baby is taken upstairs at night

i didnt give five stars only because it has no temperature shown but instead only 1 to 6 ; i think this is being too critical, but there you go.....It does the job great, the thermostat ensures that it is not switched on for long with major electricity concerns. hIGHLY RECOMMENDED
