I purchased this heater for a replacement for my mothers broken heater, but she was concerned about the product because the cable was too short to reach her sockets and the paperwork said not to use with an extention cable,(her sockets are half way up the wall for disability purposes). It also said not to use in a draught and as her only sockets available are against a doorway she wouldn't use it. She wanted me to return the product, but I liked it and decided to check it out. The heater is great and the fan assistance boosts the initial heat very well. I found the heater to be very good - better than my own and as the weather was really bad when it came I kept it for myself. The heater has two switches, one for the fan and one for the convector. There is a dial for the thermostat setting. It cannot be set to use only one kilowatt. The heater is easy to assemble, just a small screw to hold each foot on, if using it on the floor and simple brackets for the wall if having it fixed in position. All in all I would recommend this product, but beware of were your sockets are as the cable is very short, that said I do think you would be ok with an extension as long as the cable is strong enough to carry the current of the heater but as I'm no expert in electrics don't take my word for it.
