over the years ive had all different types of fryers
the ones that have the cool zone with the element inside the oil were completely rubbish for anything but chips ,no doughnuts, no fish no batter as you either had to use the basket and the food stuck to it or not bother as the element meant no frying without the basket.
the other ones that come apart for easy cleaning! these i found got caked in old oil as the basket hook sat in the oil and when it came to hooking it on the side the oil dripped everywhere and stuck solid.the fat also spat everywhere when cooking because the basket wasnt low enough inside.
this fryer solves all these problems, no it doesnt have a recipe book , but its a fryer (who would need one),it also has a wobble to the handle but this is because it folds away even during cooking and not many do that , ive looked at it closly as ive had bad experiences with loose handles and whilst it wobbles if you shake it the mechanism is METAL where it clips and thus is quite sturdy.
the fryer is also 3 inches deeper than my old one the hook on the basket is nowhere near the oil so no dripping/splatter. when in use the permanent filter works really well and the absense of a veiwing window is no loss as ive yet to find one on any appliance that i could see through!
emptying the fryer is no problem its light and there is a special pouring lip to the side that after you remove the lid is a doddle to do and it wont bung up with bits like fryers with a supposed drain.
i considered fryers up to £100 but this one is well built and thought out and im very suprized the price wasnt nearer £40- £50 ,some people may be put off thinking its cheap and nasty but this is a good piece of kit it cooks wonderfully the temperature seems spot on and its easy cleaned because you dont have to and i can make doughnuts and fry fish again wooo hoooo!
