Product Description

Product Description

The Dragon ECC combines all of the style and features found in the standard Dragon range, but with the added benefit of Electronic Climate Control. ECC is the latest technological advancement in portable heating, automatically monitoring and selecting the ideal power setting to maintain your chosen temperature (from 5°C froststat to 35°C), allowing you to keep your room at a constant and consistent temperature and ensuring high energy efficiency.

The stylish De'Longhi TRD0820ER Dragon convects air through its unique "chimney", providing a fast flow of hot air that quickly warms the whole room. It also has a large surface area for high radiant heat output. Working in a similar way to De'Longhi's Vento range, but at a more advanced level, the convective chimneys of the Dragon 3 range provide a "Super Chimney Effect" with multiple narrow chimneys, which increases convective air flow in a superior way.

The Dragon 3 heats the air faster than any traditional oil-filled radiator and creates a comfortable mixture of radiant and convected heat, providing 2 kW of total heat output with switchable heat levels, a frost-guard setting and an overheat safety cut-out.

The Dragon TRD0615 has been designed to have a smooth and safe profile, with rounded edges and fitted castors, making it safe and easy to move around the home as necessary. The Dragon ECC also has a 24-hour digital clock and timer to programme two time periods and comes complete with a 10-year guarantee.

We have a 12' by 16' conservatory, which we have been using very little in the winter months as it gets so cold, even with the plumbed in radiator. We therefore decided to buy an additional heater. We was almost put off by the previous review, but decided as there would be no need for silence (eg, no one would be sleeping in there) that we could take the risk on noise. It arrived several days ago (Amazon always very reliable on timely delivery) and we plugged it in.

As an oil filled radiator (as opposed to a fan heater), it does not warm up immediately, but it does not take very long at all. Not really any longer than a conventional radiator in your central heating system. There is the odd click as it warms up, but hey - unless you were listening for it as I was, and only then because of the previous review complaining of its noisiness, I suspect you would not notice it. It is as near as silent as I imagine you can get.

What can I say? - it does the business. Within minutes it has a noticeable effect on the conservatory (eg - it is as warm as the rest of the house and makes it comfortable to sit in it) and it stays that way. There is an almost infinite number of heat settings (the temperature gauge is electronic, so you alter it by pressing the "warmer" or "cooler" buttons, and you can even do that from a nifty little remote control. It is disappointing that the remote does not work from the other side of the double glazed patio door (eg, you actually have to go into the conservatory to turn it on!) but it has a timer too - so I guess we could programme it to come on and off at the times we want if we were too bone idle to simply turn it on. Above all - it comes with a TEN YEAR guarantee which is another strong point.

Are we happy with our choice? Absolutely. Would we recommend this radiator to anyone else? Definitely. I could not fault it - hence the five stars.

I recently purchased one of these radiators and was nearly put off by the comments about the noise, however i am glad i was not. If you follow the instructions it states that for first use it needs to be on for 8 hours to get rid of the new smell and that is when noise occurs as discribed. However i disagree that it is really noisy. It is no different to hearing the clicks and groans of any central heating system and you have to really listen for it. Once the radiator has been on that amount of time and is next used it does not make a noise at all so my suggestion is follow instructions and you will have no problem. It is highly efficient and throws out a lot of heat in a vast area i am extremely impressed and would recommend it to anyone.

    Great Heater 29 Nov 2008
We got this heater for our combined kitchen/living space a few months ago. The room is about 9m(L)X 3.5m(w)X 2.5m(h).

On Max it can silently (no more pops after about a week) and quickly get the room from 7' or so to a toasty 23-24' & it'll go way beyond that if left on Max 35' - I'll leave it ticking over on the 'low' setting for the rest of the day (Which *might* be 500w, I'm not sure) and it'll keep the room at a nice consistent temperature.

I'm really glad we got it, so much heat comes out of it on max that I can make hot-air balloons from Tesco bags and float them with it. Now *there's* a good reason to get one :-)

Excellent heater, heats up quickly and supplies a nice constant heat. Easy to move about and adjust heat with remote. A slightly longer power lead would be nice.
