When I first saw this, I was expecting it to have a tiny extraction capacity until I had a closer look and seen it had a 16 litre/24h rating, yet it's no larger or wider than a typical oil filled radiator!
The water container comes out the left and is a little fiddly to get back in, at least the first few times. The air comes in the back and blows sideways out the front vents.
To test its performance, I set it on "continuous" and ran it in a room with the door wide open. Over a 3-hour period in our 4-bedroom house, it brought the humidity from 62% to 54% and extracted 410ml, based on a separate digital hydrometer placed in the same room. The temperature went from 22.5C to 23.0C, so unlike the desiccant type dehumidifiers I've been reading reviews about, it doesn't significantly heat up the room. This makes it useful for summer use such as getting rid of the stickiness out of the air on a humid warm day without making the room uncomfortably warm.
When plugged into an energy monitor, it measures 200 watts on low fan setting and 220 watts on high fan setting. It sounds like a fridge on the low fan setting and the addition sounding like a fan on the high setting. On the other hand, it's quieter than other dehumidifier's I've seen.
I would have given it a full rating if its built-in hydrometer & thermometer display were more accurate. When switched on, it shows the same temperature and 5% higher humidity than that of a separate hydrometer. After about 30 minutes of operation, it shows the temperature 6C higher and the humidity 20% lower than on the separate hydrometer, so I recommend getting a separate hydrometer to get a more accurate reading.
For those still wondering if it's worth getting a dehumidifier, based on my experience, it gets rid of the stickiness on a humid day and we haven't had any mould problem anywhere in the house since we first started using a dehumidifier (this is my 3rd dehumidifier). If you do photography as a hobby (like I do), it stops photographic paper from curling and I've never had an issue with mouldy lenses either.
