Just idling thru reviews while I decide whether to buy the matching toaster or not, and I was surprised to find how poorly this is rated.
And yet, I can hardly disagree with some - the gauge is particularly bad and does indeed look as though it's registering water content when there's none.
However, I find it robust, a good pourer, I like the side-ways handle on the lid, so that if you do take it off to re-fill after boiling, you don't scald yourself. I also like the fact that it will boil small amounts of water, and always turns off at boiling, whether it's full or got hardly any in.
Yes, it is Very Noisy, you can't have a phone conversation next to it when it's boiling.
I've had mine about 6 months in a fairly average kitchen, I'm no perfect housewife, but it doesn't look grubby or tatty yet. I've just been to stare at it to check.

I'm confused, I think you've all been sent a dodgy batch here guys, either that or this isn't the same kettle that we both love. The kettle looks great, that's originally why we got the thing, but I must say that ever since it's been great, fast to boil, accurate to pour and all round very easy to keep looking neat and tidy.
Once again, some people's standards amazes me. It's a kettle, it boils water and looks great whilst doing so. Those are my two boxes ticked.
I'd recommend you ignore perhaps 80% of these reviews, and you'll be perfectly happy.

Aesthetically it looks nice, but I have to agree with the majority of bad comments.
It's noisy - I've never heard a kettle like it.
It's hard to keep clean.
The lid is difficult to remove - even more so in my case because the small handle on the top has snapped off.
The water level isn't very accurate, but that's not that much of an issue as it's easy to pick up to estimate the level.
I've had it about a year and a half and it does a job and matches the toaster, but I certainly won't be buying De'Longhi again.
Edit: I've had this a few years now and it's now leaking from the pouring spout, which is obviously quite dangerous as we end up with pools of water on the base.
I'll be replacing this kettle very soon and certainly won't be buying De'Longhi again.

i wish now i had bought a perfect one.
because it wasnt that cheap compared wth a perfect one and it has a small scratch on the front and one on the back in the cream area of the kettle.

Not a bad choice!
