Very disappointed with this item. Not especially good for toasting paninis as originally stated in the product description. Unlike the new health grills this old fashioned design means fat does not run away, but does pour out of the machine onto the worksurface and indeed some gets under the plates and into the element area.

Unit itself is flimsy and light - not heavy enough to press onto the food to cook properly - found myself holding the lid down to press onto the food, especially when making paninis.

Would not recommend this to anyone, save your money - or buy a proper health grill.
