Product Description

"A stunning, moving story about one man's life and all the possibilities to be realized or lost along the way. . . . Moon and Ba's artwork is as impressive as their writing, and aided by colorist Dave Stewart the artists/writers render gorgeous cities and landscapes from Brazil across several decades. . . . This is an intense work that promises to bring the reader along on a personal and rewarding journey."--PUBLISHERS WEEKLY"It's a comic that lingers in the head, with powerful writing and vivid art that are a pleasure to behold. . . . The main character dies again and again, forcing readers to contemplate the fragility of life."--USA TODAY/Pop Candy"Every bit of this book was perfectly executed, from the way the story was presented to the art chores to Dave Stewart's ungodly coloring abilities and on and on. . . . A rousing success."--AIN'T IT COOL NEWS

About the Author

Fabio Moon and Gabriel Ba are twin brothers, born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where they live until this day. They have their friends and their family; it's their home. They have been telling stories in comic book form for almost fifteen years, and their work has been published in France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Japan, Germany, as well as in the U.S. and Brazil. They like their coffee black, with no sugar, so that the taste is strong and memorable. They believe stories should taste equally strong and be just as memorable. They work with a fresh pot that's always handy to make sure they never forget that.

A great example of what can be achieved within the comics medium. Fantastic look at mortality and how different choices and events can affect us. A very moving, emotional, hilarious book following one man on various important days of his life. Definitely a must read for fans of great comics and great literature

Great Edition for a Great Story 3 May 2014
By Kevin Kropp - Published on
Format: Hardcover
Daytripper is a great story, reading reviews for the trade paperback will tell you that. I still remember reading it for the first time and upon re-reading, continue to find new things I like. Specifically though, this edition is a great. I've been able to compare it to the trade paperback and the expanded dimensions do more justice to the artwork. The paper quality is much better and the extras included really do justify the "deluxe edition." Vertigo really did a nice job with the presentation and I sincerely hope this presentation becomes the standard for their deluxe editions. For the price on Amazon you can't go wrong.

Amazing. 21 May 2014

I am not usually a fan of this sort of graphic novel. I prefer Hellboy to heartfelt, if you know what I mean. However, I think this is a particularly exceptional volume. The story is moving, the art outstanding, and the concept, while certainly not light, never collapses under the weight of its seriousness. Powerful stuff. Highly recommended.

If I could I would give this book 10 stars and 2 thumbs up. This book is so good. I just happened to pick it up by chance while perusing the graphic novels at my local Barnes & Noble when I came upon this big deluxe version. I pulled it off the shelf and immediately loved the cover and then noticed at the top that it was a NY times best seller. That of course piqued my interest so I bought it. Well come to find out this book also won the Eisner Award as well. This story was great from cover to cover. The illustrations were wonderful and the story brought me to tears at the end. Definitely a REALLY good read.

If you like comics, you NEED to buy this 14 Jun. 2014

Daytripper tells the story of a man and how his life could change through his possible deaths. Maybe it sounds a little confusing, but it's actually very simple. I'm going to sound pretentious, but I think it's even philosophical.

I don't own the TPB, but I think the hardcover edition is a must-have. If you're tired of superhero crossovers, make yourself a favor and buy this. The art is gorgeous and the plot is incredible touching.

This book is just as beautiful as a graphic novel can get.

The book has a lot of good reviews. The story line is original. The main character dies at the end of each short story. Each story takes place in different parts of his life. The art and stories did not captivate me. It's a good book but not a great one. I would recommend reviewing the art work and reading a bit of the story before purchasing it
