Moving Piece Of Photographic Work 21 Jun 2010

After seeing this book a long time ago on a short trip to NYC I was inspired to place an order. Sitting patiently for 4 months it arrived only yesterday and upon opening reminded me exactly why I wanted my own copy of this to begin with. As a young student photographer it's an inspiration to see someone who is well known for portraiture do something so raw with his own personal life. It's inspired myself to produce something similar as I am in a situation not to dissimilar from this. Toledano is something of a master and I take my hat off to him and challenge anyone that isn't moved a bit by this amazing body of photographic work.

This book is wonderful and I thank Phillip for sharing his personal story and incredible photographs of his father with us. I absolutely love this book. Every photograph is beautiful, poignant and really moving - the words give it a really personal touch. I have just bought my second copy now as I just gave away my first to a friend who recently lost her dad. This book is for anyone who loves their family or loves photography, or like me, loves both very much indeed.

I knew the photos from the website Phillip made before the book even existed. I love the way he photographed his dad. When you read the book, it's almost impossible to do that without a tear in your eye. Well done!
