1.0 out of 5 stars Dog's Dinner Afternoon, 13 Sep 2008
By A. Miles (Al Khor, Qatar) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Thoroughly unconvincing Brit crime caper, resembling 'Dog Day Afternoon' reimagined as an Eastenders bank holiday omnibus. Whilst the plot - bank robbery goes wrong - is acceptable, if a little hackneyed, every other aspect of the film is dreadful. It's directed and filmed with all the visual and creative flair of an episode of 'This Morning', and the script simply has no grasp of storytelling dynamics, giving what is obviously supposed to be an unbearably tense scenario all the heartstopping drama and conflict of a catfood advert. Worst of all are the cast, the usual selection of drama school mockney hardmen who always pop up in this sort of underachieving Britflick: Special mention here must go to Shaun Williamson, (Eastenders/Extras) spectacularly miscast as the policeman working the case. Awful, awful film.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bank Robbery Thriller, 23 Sep 2008
By JJS (London, England) - See all my reviews
I saw this film recently at the cinema and was very pleasantly surprised. The actors have been cast well and they all give good performances throughout the film. The story of the robbery is told well and has more realism than a lot of other bank robbery movies. Overall this stands up well when compared to other British films in this genre.

4.0 out of 5 stars darnuplikeakipper, 22 Sep 2008
By 2cleverbyhalf (somewhere in the future) - See all my reviews
Given the terrible standard of most Brit crime capers, DL didn't have do much to get a qualified thumbs up. Yes it's a bit mockney.. but the way the bank gets robbed is very clever and the performances are better than average. It meanders a bit towards the end but overall it's not a bad effort.

Do you think Mr Miles' review was true ? I found the film very enjoyable with an excellent soundtrack. For a first film, Paris Leonti has imagination and humour. Read more
