I saw the Webb Sisters live last night, and have to say that the level of talent, originality and complexity of their music was inspiring and refreshing. It is not often that you hear a harp being played in a contemporary band setting, and the effect was pure magic. I was also really happily surprised to see an ocarina being played - bring back the ocarina!!! The girls have a soulful, folky rock sound, rich with emotion and serious musical talent. If you want to be first in there on the next big thing, the Webb Sisters are where its at.

This is a superb album from start to finish. I have seen The Webb Sisters live and can testify that these are two very talented musicians and it was with much excitement that I purchased thier debut offering. I've read a few reviews which liken them to Fleetwood Mac and that's not far off at all- Daylight Crossing is indeed like a modern day 'Rumours', slightly more edgy in parts and more lush in others. Don't be fooled though - this isnt your average 'Middle of the Road' album. Although it IS mainstream on the whole, there is enough edge and cool to satisfy all tastes. If you love great songs, lush harmonies and catchy melodies then this is for you. It's a no brainer really! An album for the collection of any real music fan.

I'd never heard of these until a live performance they did at asda house (head office in Leeds) and i thought they were brilliant. Dead relaxing music, extremely tallented, and probably going to go far! After a stressful day at work, get a brew, kick back and chill with this un.

I love Leonard Cohen and have longtime been a fan of the Webb Sisters and Sharon Robinson as a result.

I have the Webb Sisters EP, The Other Side, which is sublime as LC would say.

This is completely different. It is over-produced, the songs are unmemorable and I wish I had never bought it or heard it. They are no longer sublime; they are a Corrs soundalike, which whilst not being dreadful, is not where they should be.

If you are thinking of buying this, reconsider and buy The Other Side - 4 tracks of sublimity, except for track 2, which sounds like the Corrs - oh God - they just aren't as good in the studio as they are on the stage.

I saw the video for I Still Hear It on TV, and thought it sounded like a great chilled summer song, so i bought the album. I'm really glad i did, as there are some fantastic songs on here, my favorite being Still The Only One. I hope this is their next single, as it could be a huge hit. This album is highly recommended summer listenning!

This was another CD I purchased on the strength of seeing The Webb Sisters at a recent Leonard Cohen concert - Sharon Robinson's "Everybody Knows" being the other one. During the course of the concert if Cohen name-checked "The sublime Webb Sisters" once he must have done it half a dozen times. And do you know what? He is spot-on. Seldom have I heard such close knit and haunting harmonies. Some of the songs may be a little light weight but the fact that they are all self-penned counts for something in my book. On initial listening I felt the sound was very similar to Fleetwood Mac in their Rumours era but this became less noticeable following repeated listenings. The Webb Sisters are very much their own people and tremendously talented as well."Daylight Crossing" is a 2006 issue and I hope there will be another offering from the sublime (if its good enough for Leonard Cohen etc) Webb Sisters in the near future

Having seen and heard these sisters on a Cohen DVD where they did such a wonderfull job as his backing singers I had high hopes for this album. It is difficult to say exactly why it didnt work for me as the songs were competently performed and the voices are sweet. None of the songs really stood out, they were all good album numbers but with no real demonstration of the talent these two have. Very ordinary.

after seeing them perform with L Cohen i wanted to hear them again. What a waste of their talents this album was. Very average mor songs with an irritating over the top production. Not really awful, but so dissappointing.
