Like Jay i still have my original vinyl copy of this great lp...bought when i was 13 with my hard earned pocket money

The original production was excellent so i wasnt expecting a great improvement but it brings out an extra clarity here

Track wise they are all good...i even love Bald Headed Lena...and it has the extra verse to Butchies Tune... not on the original... which was only available on a Marble Arch budget release as far as i know

Its just a great pop album and every bit as good as the more highly praised contemporary releases

Even my mum liked it " Much nicer than that other weird stuff you buy son"!

Jim

Another replacement of an old vinyl album lost years ago and this 'Spoonful re-issue is exactly as I remember it. Great songs written with a nice mixture of humour, romance, blues and it just damn good enjoyable music. Can't pick a good track, they're all good but 'Let the boy rock and roll' and 'Jug band music' are great examples of John Sebastians humourous style of writing lyrics. Not that you have to analyse this album track by track, we didn't then, we just enjoyed it, it's just a great album it was when I heard it in 1966 and it still is.

Ive been daydreaming for the past 40+ years of replacing this album & I am over the moon about getting it. Still such a good album. Almost every song sits in the Classic mould. "Night Owl Blues" has got to be one of the prime examples of harmonica playing at its finest, cooooool! Eat your heart out John Mayall.
One of the best if not original "soft" rock albums available, very under rated Band
