On first seeing this film, the only thing I could picture was the evil gangster 'Steve Owen' played by Martin Kemp, in Eastenders. In this film he once more takes on the role of a tyrant, who at the beginning of the tale is in search of a greater wealth than he already posesses. However, through the endevours of a perhaps misguided and fairly uneducated woman he comes to learn that life is something to be cherished, that there is something more important than just money.
A tale very much concentrated on love, not only between the people, but also between the horses and the people who care for them.
I highly recommend this film, an inspiring tale of love, betrayal and trust. The characters show imense change throughout, and although it may now be seen as an old fashioned film, it is very much a part of every day life.
