This EP is unimaginably great from start to finish. Even Johansen manages to engulf an array of sounds and emotions ranging from schizoid alternative soundscapes ala The Flaming Lips "The Day We Left Town" to Thom Yorke after tears and a gallon of gin in "Clean Slate" - a fantastic overview to life in the rat race. "Dead Happy" pulls on the same previously untouched atmospherics as Talk Talk and Sigur Ros, but leaving the best till last is simplistic closer "Big Black Moon" where Johansen comes across like an angelic Tom Waits. A wonderful artist - a wonderful EP. Can't wait for the album later this year.
