Product Description

From the Author

Day-Signs cuts a straight path through the fog
The 20 day-signs, the "zodiac" of the ancient Aztecs, Maya, Toltecs, etc., cycle endlessly. People born under them appear to be influenced in specific ways. The correlation between these day-signs and the Western calendar has been a controversial topic for a long time, which is what the reader's comment is about. The most established calendar correlation is one called the Goodman-Martinez-Thompson correlation, which is the one used in this book. It's based on the inscriptions, first-hand accounts during the early Spanish invasion, and the oral tradition of the Quiche Maya. Other correlations, many promoted by locals in Mexico and the one used in Dreamspell, really can't be defended - the facts point toward the Goodman-Martinez-Thompson correlation. The bottom line is that Day-Signs offers readers information based on facts, not fiction or fancy or sheer laziness.

It's a fascinating field of astrology that is simply unknown to most people.

When I read this book I discovered truths about characters and personalities of different people, depending on one of the twenty day-signs which they are born under...

5.0 out of 5 stars I have a question 18 Nov 1998

Format:Paperback
What is the difference between tonalpohualli and tomalamatl and Mayan astrology. When I was in Mexico my Tonalamatl was done. I am an obsidian butterfly, jaguar, cassa and hummingbird. When I used Bruce Scofield's book I came up with different symbols. Tonalamatl is based on the Codice Borgio. Is Scofield's the same version? My birthday is Sept. 10, 1948 in Canada. I want to learn the tomalamatl and want to know if that is what Bruce's book will teach me. My e-mail is: heatherhess@hotmail.com PLEASE ADVISE

5.0 out of 5 stars Day-Signs: 26 Feb 2013

This was exactly what I wanted. It is hard to find books that focus on the Aztec Calendar and the sun signs of that tradition. The charts at the back were particularly helpful.
