Fantastic new British rock, 20 Mar 2002
By A Customer
This band have evolved from the criminally unheard of British band 'Stony Sleep'. Ben Smith created Serafin around 18 months ago after the demise (due to various reasons) of Stony Sleep. They have since been struggling to get a record deal but now one has come along (courtesy of Taste records) I am sure they will grow and grow.
Their potential is amazing. Songs such as Day by Day, Green Disaster Twice, Violently Hopefully and Cowboy Song (the four songs from this EP) are immensely powerful, flowing rock songs with outstanding melodies. The drumming is excellent and the great riffs complement it perfectly.
There is also an enhanced element to this cd with 'cowboy song' live at the Brixton Academy. For Serafin are no strangers to large venues, having supported both Muse and JJ72 recently.
If you have heard 'Day by Day' on the radio or the web then I'd certainly recommend this EP. Equally, if you haven't, but like Stony Sleep then this will definitely be for you. Ah, what the heck - anyone who likes good rock will like this, I assure you.

How to make rock sound easy (EP1), 22 April 2002
By A Customer
OK, I could gush and gush here about what a phenomenon Serafin are about to become... I won't though. It is so painfully obvious when you hear any of these songs. The songs are of the kind that they are so good you think you must have heard them before. This is classic rock in the vein of Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer etc etc but with its own unique identity. Miss out and be absolutely gutted.

With the strength of the sun..., 22 Jan 2003
I'm not going to go into how I found out about these guys from the US. But suffice to say "Green Disaster Twice" is one of the most brilliant tracks to emerge from the UK music scene in recent memory. Great driving melody and a nice big fist-punching-air finale. Made my day when I first heard it in '99.
