I have a PhD in Chemistry and worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 4 years, developing drugs for cardiovascular disease and cancer. During that time I was also an athletics coach and athletics team manager with one of the UK's largest athletics clubs. During my time in the pharmaceutical industry I had a fascination for the placebo effect and began to study the links between the mind and body, which ultimately culminated in me leaving the industry. Shortly afterwards, a few friends and I co-founded the international relief charity, Spirit Aid Foundation, and I served as a director for 2 years. After then I began writing my first book. During this writing time I worked as a college lecturer in chemistry and tutored chemistry in the adult education department of Glasgow University. I am now the author of several books published by Hay House, and spend most of my time giving talks, leading workshops, and writing more books.
