Practical Photography Magazine - Spring 2008 Edition Page 22 - Stuff of the Month Chasing the Light What is it? You've seen his pictures and read his astute scribblings every month in this magazine, and now he's appearing in full live view in Noton the Movie. Yep, the man behind the lens has become the man in front of it as he takes you on a guided tour of life as a landscape pro and opens up many of the tricks of the trade along the way. Is it any good? Well, yes. It's beautifully filmed and well-edited. The stunning scenes and amazing conditions that Mr Noton experiences just make you want to grab a camera and get out there. His presentation style is pretty true to the man himself. Honest, open, passionate about his art and clear about what great landscape photography is all about. --Practical Photography Magazine

Just to let you know I received the DVD a couple of days ago and have been savouring it and enjoying it for the last 2 evenings. Its truly wonderful, very informative and I hope to put a lot of your advice into practice. I'm a wedding photographer by trade, though landscapes are my passion so its a pleasure to see such a great DVD. I'll definitely be buying the book too. Many thanks again for a superb product. --Email from customer

I feel sure you will have received many, many "pats on the back" for your excellent DVD. Being just retired and grappling with this new digital photography stuff I found your approach so refreshing to watch, listen to and learn from. Having bought "the kit" and got it up and running. I am (after 2 years) just starting to learn that I know absolutely nothing about light and how to capture it. Many thanks for such a succinct and heart warming production, well done you and your team. --Email from customer

Right on the Mark 14 Dec 2008

This is an excellent DVD for any aspiring photographer. It may at times become too technical for the beginner, but for those who understand the general concepts of digital photography it is ideal.

David has an engaging personality and his enthusiasm for his work and love of photography is very evident.

The DVD is well structured with most topics covered with excellent field examples that David talks through.

This is a guy who has clearly worked very hard at his chosen profession and reached the very top of the tree.

It's bang up to date, wholly digital focused and a superb buy.

Inspiring stuff. 6 Dec 2009
David Noton manages to engage the viewer well and gives a real insight into the time and effort required to take decent landscape photographs. Anyone who dismisses photography as an art form should watch this and have their eyes opened. It caters mainly for those who have some knowledge and experience but would be just as valuable to the complete novice, although there is also plenty here for seasoned photographers. It covers composition, filters, post processing, location finding and other areas and is well worth viewing.

Excellent 16 May 2010
This DVD is well worth the asking price,It's a really well thought out production.David Noton avoids the stuff most of already know,i.e the fundamentals of photograhy, instead(as the title suggests) this is a master class in understanding the less technical but intrinsic topic of understanding light and how to use it to your advantage,it's also a bonus that it plays on a DVD player (instead of a pc like many other videos by photographers) and you can relax and enjoy this on your T.V,the overall mood is tranquil and its very calming to watch, you will see some beautiful scenery(as you would expect from a top landscape photographer) that makes learning a pleasure.well worth the asking price.
